This portfolio highlights a few of the incredible individuals I’ve had the opportunity to train and/or coach, and to watch evolve both on and off the field. Each story is a testament to what’s possible through commitment, trust, and hard work.

DeAndre Thompkins Wide Receiver
A standout wide receiver and return specialist, DeAndre Thompkins made his mark at Penn State, earning All-Big Ten honors while completing dual degrees in Psychology and Criminology. His professional career includes time in the NFL with the Philadelphia Eagles, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Green Bay Packers, as well as a stint with the DC Defenders.

De'Mornay Pierson-El
Wide Receiver
De'Mornay Pierson-El made an immediate impact in 2014, earning All-America honors as a punt returner his freshman year. His professional journey includes time with the Washington Commanders, Raiders, Broncos, Montreal Alouettes (CFL), and St. Louis Battlehawks (XFL).

Brian Cobbs
Wide Receiver
A three-time team captain at the University of Maryland, Brian Cobbs earned Big Ten All-Academic honors while leading on and off the field. He went on to sign with the Arizona Cardinals, where he made a memorable impact with a game-tying touchdown against the Denver Broncos.

Jamie Sara
Pitcher
A standout two-sport athlete at West Potomac High School, Jamie Sara was selected in the 12th round of the 2016 MLB Draft by the San Diego Padres. He chose to honor his commitment to William & Mary University, where he majored in Anthropology while continuing his baseball career.

Stephaun Walker
Forward
Dominating his senior year with averages of 16.6 points, 19.7 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game, Stephaun Walker earned All-DCSAA First Team and All-Metro Second Team honors in 2022. He was also named to the DCIAA First Team that same year. Stephaun continued his basketball career at Old Dominion University (ODU).

Taylor Morin
Wide Receiver
Taylor Morin finished his Wake Forest career as the program’s all-time leader in receiving yards (2,974) and ranks second in both career receptions (227) and punt return yards (809). He also tallied 21 receiving touchdowns and appeared in 61 games, tied for the second-most in school history. A true student-athlete, Taylor earned All-ACC Academic honors and was the recipient of the prestigious Jim Tatum Award.

Rayjuon Pringle
Wide Receiver
Rayjuon Pringle earned CAA First Team Offense honors and led the nation in yards per catch with an impressive 24.6 average. He was recognized for his academic achievements on both the Athletic Director’s and CAA Commissioner’s Honor Rolls. Rayjuon went on to spend time with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tim Hetzel
Quarterback
A standout quarterback at Mount Vernon High School, Tim Hetzel went on to play at Glenville State University, where he totaled over 250 completions, 3,300 passing yards, and 25 touchdowns. Known for his leadership and grit, Tim was also a fierce competitor on Coach Byrd’s 7v7 team, Speed Kills, at Sport & Speed Institute.

Nour Chirchi
Offensive Line
Nour Chirchi was a dominant offensive lineman, earning All-Conference and All-Region honors twice and finishing his senior season without allowing a single sack. He also earned All-State recognition in track & field and maintained Honor Roll status throughout high school. Nour continued his football career at Shippensburg University after being recognized with All-Northern Virginia honorable mention.

Josh McGrigg
Wide Receiver
Josh McGrigg earned academic honors with the Villanova Wildcats, including the 2017 CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award and 2016 CAA Football All-Academic Team recognition. At Saint Francis University, he delivered a breakout performance against LIU, scoring three touchdowns—one by reception, one on a 94-yard kick return, and another on a 59-yard punt return. Josh was later named Second Team All-NEC as a return specialist.

Mark Ellis
Quarterback
Mark Ellis threw for over 2,400 yards and 23 touchdowns in his senior season, earning All-District honors and recognition as an Honor Roll student. He chose to continue his football career at Stetson University over offers from Albany, Towson, Old Dominion, Liberty, and Saint Francis.

Khalil Williams-Diggins
Guard
Khalil Diggins-Williams was a two-time First Team All-Patriot Conference selection and helped lead his team to back-to-back Patriot District Conference Championships. He also earned All-Met honorable mention recognition for his standout play. Khalil continued his basketball career at Virginia Union University.

Jackson Mayo
Guard
Jackson Mayo was a standout football and basketball player at West Potomac High School before transferring to Mililani High School in Hawaii. There, he excelled both academically and athletically, earning Dean’s List honors and the Superintendent’s Award for Excellence.

Justin Amoakohene
Wide Receiver
Justin Amoakohene was a standout athlete at South County High School, excelling in both football and track & field while helping lead his team to a 6A state championship. He continued his football career at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where he was also recognized for academic excellence during his freshman year.

Mike Cobbs was a two-way standout at Hayfield High School, earning First Team All-6A North and First Team All-Conference 6 honors as a safety and wide receiver. He continued his football career at James Madison University, where he also earned his degree in Sport and Recreation Management.

Trey Rucker
Safety
Trey Rucker delivered a standout performance against BYU with 14 tackles, a forced fumble, and a game-sealing recovery in double overtime—earning Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week and OSU’s Defensive MVP honors. He began his college career at Wake Forest before transferring as a graduate student. Trey also competed on Coach Byrd’s 7v7 team, Speed Kills, at Sport & Speed Institute.

Travis Williams
Wide Receiver
A versatile standout at Hayfield High School, Travis Williams excelled at wide receiver, tight end, and defensive end. He continued his football career with the Virginia Tech Hokies, making impactful contributions across the field and helping the team earn a bid to the Belk Bowl against the Kentucky Wildcats.

Solomon Simay
Wide Receiver
Solomon Simay was a key contributor at SCHS, helping lead the Stallions to a 38-5 record over four years. He earned First Team All-Conference honors in 2016 along with multiple team awards, including Outstanding Running Back. Solomon majored in Engineering at the University at Albany (UAlbany).

Price William
Wide Receiver
A versatile force on both sides of the ball, Price Williams earned four All-District, three All-Region, and two All-State honors while playing running back, tight end, and linebacker. He totaled over 2,200 yards, helped lead his team to a 2018 state championship, and was named Team MVP all four years. Price continued his athletic and academic journey at Princeton University and was a standout on the 7v7 Speed Kills team at Sport & Speed Institute.

Malick Meiga
Wide Receiver
Malick Meiga earned Penn State’s John Bruno Memorial Award in 2022 as the team’s top special teams player before finishing his career at Coastal Carolina, where he was named a team captain in 2023. He is also a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. Malick and Coach Byrd first connected at the NIKE Opening Camp, where their shared passion for the game began.

Kaleb Prejean
Athlete
Kaleb Prejean is a versatile playmaker who showcased his talent at tight end, defensive end, and linebacker for the Temple Owls. He continued his football journey at the professional level with the XFL’s Arlington Renegades.

Michael Dereus
Wide Receiver
Michael Dereus starred at Georgetown University, earning All-Patriot League First Team honors as a standout wide receiver. He spent time with the Baltimore Ravens before joining the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions. Michael went on to win two league championships with the Stallions, showcasing his talent at the professional level.

JT Mayo
Wide Receiver
JT Mayo was a multi-sport athlete at West Potomac High School, lettering in both lacrosse and track & field. He continued his football career at William & Mary, where he led the team in receptions, receiving yards, and touchdown catches as a junior. JT also earned CAA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recognition for his success in the classroom.

Jonas Munson
Center
Jonas Munson was a standout at West Potomac High School in Alexandria, VA, where he earned District Defensive Player of the Year honors along with All-District and All-Region selections. He continued his basketball career at the University of Central Arkansas, bringing his defensive presence to the collegiate court.

Corey Jones
Wide Receiver
Corey Jones was a multi-sport athlete at West Potomac High School, earning three football letters and qualifying for the state meet in both the 200m and 400m as a track standout. He continued his football career at Stevenson University, where he developed into a collegiate playmaker. Corey went on to play professionally in Germany for the Salzburg Ducks.

Justin Brown
Tight End
Justin Brown was a standout multi-sport athlete in high school, lettering in football, basketball, and track. At the University of Maryland, he excelled both on the field and in the classroom, earning a degree in kinesiology while helping the Terrapins reach multiple bowl games. As a graduate student at Frostburg State University, Justin pursued his master’s in business administration while continuing his football career as a tight end.

Tyler Savage
Tight End
Tyler Savage earned his undergraduate degree in Communication from East Carolina University, where he was a two-time All-AAC Academic Team selection and named to the ECU Director of Athletics Honor Roll. He was also selected as a SAAC Representative for the 2023-24 year. Tyler was a standout player for Coach Byrd’s 7v7 team at Sport & Speed Institute.

Jarrod Denham
Wide Receiver
A varsity letterwinner in football, baseball, and track at West Potomac High School, Jarrod Denham continued his career at Bridgewater College, where he became a dynamic playmaker. He earned Second Team All-ODAC honors, totaling 815 all-purpose yards and scoring touchdowns on the ground, through the air, and on kick returns.

JaSean McLean
Safety
JaSean McLean was a dynamic four-sport athlete, lettering in basketball, football, soccer, and track & field. He earned First-Team All-Region honors as a sophomore and received offers from Army, UMass, and Toledo. JaSean chose to continue his football career at the United States Naval Academy.

Nigel Okunubi
Wide Receiver
Nigel Okunubi was a standout wide receiver at Hayfield High School, known for his playmaking ability and athleticism. He earned a full scholarship to continue his football career at Clarion University.

Max Wysocki
Wide Receiver
Max Wysocki was a standout at Madison High School, earning First-Team All-Class 6 Region D and First-Team All-Concorde District honors as both a defensive back and punt returner. He was also named Second-Team Defensive Player of the Year in the Concorde District and received Washington Post All-Met honorable mention recognition. Max continued his football career at the University of Oregon.

Presley Egbers
Quarterback
Presley Egbers is a decorated quarterback, earning All-Region Second Team, All-State First Team, and VaSID All-State Offensive Player of the Year honors. He was also recognized with the Lanier Award and the J. Stokely Fulton Offensive Player of the Year award at Randolph Macon University. Presley was an outstanding quarterback for Coach Byrd’s 7v7 team at Sport & Speed Institute.

Jaiquan Findley
Wide Receiver
Jaquain Findley was a standout for the Stallions, helping lead the team to two district titles and an undefeated regular season as a junior. He continued his career at Christopher Newport University, making an immediate impact by playing in all ten games and averaging 45.9 all-purpose yards per game. Jaquain also starred in AAU basketball, where he earned MVP honors in the Lee District League.

Victor Atiles
Wide Receiver
Victor Atiles was a versatile athlete at Bishop Ireton, contributing on offense, defense, and special teams. He continued his football career at Shenandoah University, where he was recognized by coaches and teammates as the Most Improved Player on the team.

Ivory Frimpong
Wide Receiver
Ivory Frimpong was a standout wide receiver for the Westfield Bulldogs before continuing his career at the University of Rhode Island. He made an immediate impact on offense and special teams, finishing his collegiate career with 69 receptions, over 800 yards, and three touchdowns.

Jack Esquivel
Quarterback
Jack Esquivel was a standout quarterback at Bishop Ireton, earning All-Met First Team and All-WCAC honors. He continued his playing career at Merrimack University, where he led the team in touchdown passes in 2020. Jack also excelled academically, earning his degree in Business.

Grant Munson
Tight End
Grant Munson was a dominant force at West Potomac High School, earning First Team All-Conference honors at defensive end and Second Team honors at tight end. He continued his career at Bridgewater College, where he earned Second Team VaSID All-State and Second Team All-ODAC honors as a tight end.

Jack Darcy
Quarterback
Jack Darcy was a standout quarterback at Lake Braddock High School and a key player for Coach Byrd’s 7v7 team at Sport & Speed Institute. He continued his football career at Shepherd University, bringing his leadership and playmaking abilities to the collegiate level.

Aboraa Kwarteng
Wide Receiver
Aboraa Kwarteng was a standout at Mount Vernon High School before continuing his career at Sacred Heart University, where he led the team in receptions and receiving yards as a sophomore. He later transferred to Rhode Island, helping the Rams capture their first CAA Conference Championship since joining the league.

Elijah Wasson
Linebacker
Elijah Wasson was a standout linebacker at Flint Hill School and a key defensive leader for Coach Byrd’s 7v7 team at Sport & Speed Institute. He continued his football career at Wingate University, bringing his athleticism and leadership to the collegiate level.

Devon Lynch
Linebacker
Devon Lynch was a standout multi-sport athlete at John R. Lewis High School, earning First Team All-Conference and All-Region honors at linebacker, defensive back, wide receiver, and kick returner. After three strong seasons at Shepherd University, he transferred to Western Kentucky, helping the Hilltoppers reach the Conference USA Championship Game.

Derrick Sarpong

Derrick Sarpong was a standout athlete at Mount Vernon High School, excelling in both football and track & field, where he qualified for nationals as part of the 4x100 relay team. He continued his football career at Christopher Newport University, earning All-Academic Team honors in the New Jersey Athletic Conference.

Daryl Mackey Jr.
Guard
Daryl Mackey Jr. was a standout multi-sport athlete at West Potomac High School, lettering in both track & field and basketball. A member of the prestigious 1,000-point club in West Potomac basketball history, he went on to compete as a two-sport athlete at Virginia State University, excelling in both track & field and basketball.

Chase Shelton
Wide Receiver
Chase Shelton was a dynamic athlete at Edison High School, earning First Team All-Conference honors as both a wide receiver and sprinter, as well as Second Team All-Region recognition in both events. His speed and versatility made him a standout on the field and the track. Chase continued his football career at Saint Francis University.

Ahmad Shaw

Ahmad Shaw was an excellent athlete at Hayfield High School and a fierce competitor on Coach Byrd’s 7v7 team at Sport & Speed Institute. He continued his success at Saint Vincent College, where he was named Second Team All-PAC during his senior season. Ahmad earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management and is currently pursuing his master's degree in Management: Operational Excellence.

Brandan Lisenby

Brandan Lisenby was a First Team All-Conference selection at West Potomac High School. He continued his football career at Saint Francis University, where he totaled over 75 receptions for more than 800 yards and three touchdowns.

Chase Cook
Guard
Chase Cook was a standout basketball player at Coolidge High School. Known for his grit, passion, and incredible leaping ability, he impressed college coaches and continued his athletic and academic career at Robert Morris University.

Aaron Fields
Wide Receiver
Aaron Fields was a standout athlete at West Springfield High School, earning First Team All-District and First Team All-Region honors. He was also a key player on Coach Byrd's 7v7 team at Sport & Speed Institute. Aaron continued his football career at Stonehill College, where he brought his talent and work ethic to the next level.
